Rutan Sector
Rutan
|
Current Function:
Rutan is located at a strategic trading position along the Hydian Way at the Galactic South.
NIF-Developed History:
Rutan, it was believed, had been responsible for small raids against Federation shipping. When a diplomatic party failed to contact the NIF after being sent out to conduct talks, action was taken by the NIF military after deeming that a peaceful route was pointless. The fleet encounted many pre-Empire era weapons and ships. During the fight, the small moon in orbit around Rutan, Senali had deployed it's own invasion force in hopes of ending a long standing feud between the two groups. The Federation managed to take control of Rutan before the people of Senali where they quickly discovered that King Frane of Rutan wasn't behind the raids or the disappearance of the diplomat at all, instead, Meenon (chief of Senali) had staged the whole thing in order to try and exaust Rutan's military using the NIF and take over. It, obviously, failed and Meenon surrendered before the NIF could consider launching a new campaign against Senali. With the Federation controlling both planets, the long standing bitterness between the two nations takes second piority to the goals of the Federation as a whole.
Official Star Wars History:
Rutan is a temperate world which decided to relieve the overpopulation by colonizing the
planet's primary moon, Senali, several centuries before the Battle of Naboo. Senali won its
independence in a mutually devastating civil war. To maintain peace, the heir to leadership
from each world spent their life from age 7 to 16 on the other planet. The Rutanians are noted for aggression and hunting. The planet's main export is hunted pelts.

Official Star Wars History:
Rutan is an oceanic world which decided to relieve the overpopulation by colonizing the
planet's primary moon, Senali, several centuries before the Battle of Naboo. Senali won
its independence in a mutually devastating civil war. To maintain peace, the heir to leadership from each world spent their life from age 7 to 16 on the other planet. Senali
has four orbiting moons which causes intense tidal variation and swift currents in the planet's dominating oceans. The Senali differ slightly from the Rutanians in that they
have a silvery skin colouration, a less aggressive culture, and a republic rule instead of
an autocracy.
