Missile Intercept Security System
The idea behind pinpoint lasers is to modify the existing compound laser technology and modify
it to a narrower, longer ranged beam that increases not only range but also power. Since they
are focused even more into a pinpoint and include increased power, RoF can be increased to
produce a steady blinking line of light that will destroy any missile/rocket/torp./
spacetrooper/even starfighter in one blast or more, depending on the target. They can shoot at
a RoF much like that of an autoblaster however they tend to overheat if not allowed to cool
for two seconds after every ten second burst. Safeguards have been installed as well as
cooling systems to decrease the cool-down time to one second. In the heat of battle, time is
of the essence however, good things do take time.
Placement: x / 100 * 4 = x / 25, where x is the lenght of the capital ship to be protected.
This formula determines the minimum amount of MISS emplacements neeeded for full coverage.
Weaknesses: The system cannot handle overbearing amounts of missiles at once however it does a
good job at cutting through them to reduce the number that actually hit. With more guns on
missile swarms, it would take a torpedo sphere (or equal number of Starfighters) at point
blank to actually cause a large number of missiles to hit.
