Step 1: Using the NIF forums requires you to sign up for a user account (free of charge). Fill out the registration form below completely. Your User Name should be the name of your character and no longer than 15 characters
, and not contain any rank or your member type (subject to change). However, small deviations may be acceptable if your preferred name is already taken. Please refrain from using major Star Wars character names. Once you have submitted the form, check your e-mail for instructions.Step 2: You will now create your character. Click the type of member you wish to be (in this frame):

The following is a description of the basic fields you can fill in to create your character. Make sure you understand what each field is for.
Intel Agent
In-Character Information
Name: The name of the character you will play. This is to be made up, not your real name. Do not use the names of known Star Wars characters.
Rank: Your rank, to be updated as necessary. Starting rank is Agent.
Gender: The sex of your character. Male or Female.
Physical Description: Include hair color, eye color, height, distinguishable marks/features.
Primary Position: The main position that you will participate as. You may change this whenever you want (Bureau of Operations, Ubiqtorate, Analysis Bureau, Internal Organization Bureau)
Weapon of Choice: Your preferred weapon (you may not always be able to use it if you are in a covert op).
Location: The ship or planet you are stationed on.
Bio: Put a comprehensive biography of your character here. Create a background for your character, say what has happened to the character throughout their life. Say how they came to join the Empire.
Out of Character Information
E-mail Address: Your E-mail address. This is required.
Contact Info: More contact information, optional. Include Instant Messenger names, etc.

Fighter Pilot

Naval Officer
In-Character Information
Name: The name of the character you will play. This is to be made up, not your real name. Do not use the names of known Star Wars characters.
Rank: Your rank, to be updated as necessary. Starting rank is Cadet.
Gender: The sex of your character. Male or Female.
Physical Description: Include hair color, eye color, height, distinguishable marks/features.
Primary Position: The main job you will do on aboard your ship. You may do any, but please only list your primary one.
Weapon/Technology of Choice: Only type ONE. You will be allowed to use this weapon or device in Missions.
Location: The ship you are stationed aboard. As a naval officer, you have the option of commanding a ship, even at starting rank. This ship must be of Corvette-class, not larger. This must be stated in your profile if you wish to command a ship.
Bio: Put a comprehensive biography of your character here. Create a background for your character, say what has happened to the character throughout their life. Say how they came to join the Empire.

Click in the body of the message below (Your Comment) and press Ctrl-V (paste). Fill out the template.Type your character name in the subject field. When you are finished, click "Add Topic".
You have now created your character and joined the RPG. (Remember, you can edit your character/member information whenever you would like) You may participate in member activities as often as you wish.
Step 4: We highly recommend you (A) check out the Member Extras page for some more information and ideas on participating, and (B) read through the Member Manual to familiarize yourself with procedure. It contains everything you need to know to be a member.
