This information regarding various starfighters in the galaxy has been complied by Imperial Intelligence.

D-Type Starfighter

The D-Type is named for its deltawing formation. It is a fighter built and used exclusively by the Yevetha, an alien race living in the Koornacht Cluster. It has better acceleration and maneuverability than most human designed starfighters since Yevethans can physically tolerate more g-force and have an edge in inertial dampening technology. It is an effective superiority fighter used successfully by the Yevetha, very effective in atmosphere, but it has no weapons capable of harming shielded capital ships. For this reason the Yevetha sometimes resort to suicide attack when up against capships. All though they also use various imperial fighters, the D-Type is their own design and fits them best.

Recommendation: Slower imperial fighters are well advised to use concussion missiles against this fast, strongly shielded fighter. It is also advisable to attack in teams and make use of beam weapons.

Vulture Mk I Drone Starfighter

The Vulture, aka VGSPBD, Variable Geometry Self-Propelled Battle Droid, resembles the nightmarish Hawk-Bat in shape. It is a tiny short-range droid fighter built for and exclusively used by the Trade Federation. It is remote-controlled from its mothership with a range up to 5,000 Km. After six minutes without contact with the mothership, it selfdestructs to avoid capture. It uses solid fuel which quickly burns out, but gives the tiny ship excellent acceleration. The powercells and the fuel has to be replenished after about 35 minutes of operation. The minimized design gives it high speed and maneouverability, but it is easily destroyed, if not easily hit. A strange ability of this drone is that it can transform into walking mode, acting as sentries for a captured territory. In this form, it can reach a maximum speed of 90 Kph but cannot use its blasters. After the Clone Wars, most of these fighters that weren't sized by the Empire fell into use by criminal groups.

Recommendation: Like all droid fighters, it is easily fooled, but it is small and fast, so it's hard to hit. Try to slow it down or trick it, then blast it away with lasers. Be wary that Vultures are usually deployed in large numbers to make up for their shortcomings. Its Energy Torpedo launchers are fairly weak and less of a threat than the blaster cannons.

Corsair-class Starfighter

The Corsair is a rarely seen ship. Unlike most starfighters, it requires a crew of three. The co-pilot controls the ion cannons and one gunner operates the turbolasers. It is unusual for a heavy assault fighter to not carry any warheads, but it carries light turbolaser batteries to make up for it. In some planetary navies, which uses the much different civilian classification of capital ships, the Corsair is listed as a cruiser.

Recommendation:
Big, slow target. Like most heavy assault fighters. It can take a good beating, but that's about it.

Miy'til Fighter

A fighter unique to the Hapan Cluster and its primary superiority fighter. The craft's small size means that the Hapan engineers had to miniaturize many of its components. It employs an R2 astromech droid to assist with in-flight operations and navigation. It is propelled by four Incom 6X4 fusial thrust engines. Some versions does not have all weapons listed. Prince Isolder's personal Miy'til fighter has been observed to have turbo generators which can temporarily increase acceleration of the craft to 160-180 MGLT as well as two bomb tubes with thermal detonators.

Recommendation: A very capable craft. Fast, more agile than rebel fighters, strong shields, and a small target profile topped off with a well-rounded arsenal. The ship is unusual in that it sports particle shields just as effective as its deflectors.

Hetrinar Assault Bomber

Often mistakenly named the Miy'til Assault Bomber due to its similarity with its sister version, plus of course Hapan isolationsim which means little is known or noticed about Hapes in the Galaxy at large. The Hetrinar is however a much larger craft, with a serious arsenal. It is an assault fighter rather than a bomber with its large missile load. Although a powerful assault fighter, it never saw widespread use, even within the Hapan Navy.

Recommendation: Reasonably fast for such a large ship, and with powerful shields. Its missiles makes it dangerous, but other than that, you should be able to outmaneuver and take it out.

Specifications:

ARC 170 Starfighter

The ARC 170 was designed for use by the Old Republic ARC (Advanced Recon Commando) troopers in the late Clone Wars. The ARC 170 (Aggressive ReConnaissance) introduced concepts that would later come to use in the X-Wing such as S-foils which increases atmospheric maneouverability. These ships were produced until the Empire turned all starfighter contracts over to Sienar. Some versions of the ARC170 only features one rear turret. The nose contains sensitive long-range sensors for its recon missions. It is a long-range craft, one of few fighters with a hyperdrive from this era, and it carries consumables for five days of operations. Market price is 79,000 for an ARC 170, if you can find it. Although its forward-mounted laser cannons are often referred to as "medium", they are more correctly classified as heavy, much larger than on most comparable craft and with heavy firepower.
Recommendation: Very rare. An effective all-round assault craft. Strong shields coupled with turrets means it can defend itself well even though it is relatively large and sluggish.

Specifications:

Name/Type: ARC 170 Starfighter
Designer/Manufacturer: Incom Industries
Combat Role: Heavy Assault
Crew: 1 + 2 Gunners + 1 Astromech
Length: 14.5 Meters

Delta-7 Aethersprite

The Aethersprite was much better known as the "Jedi Starfighter" back in its heyday, since it was used by the Jedi Order in the waning days of the Old Republic and early during the Clone Wars. It is a fast, light interceptor with excellent maneuverability and acceleration, but little weaponry. The ship was too small to be fitted with a hyperdrive at the time, so when Jedi travelled the galaxy they docked with a booster ring containing the drive. It also had a truncated astromech droid hardwired into the hull due to its diminutive size. The number of Delta-7s were never great, but as many were piloted by Jedi, they performed far above regular craft during the war. It costs 145,000 (used of course) on the market if you actually find one. Most Delta-7s were destroyed in the Jedi Purge.
Recommendation: A pretty good interceptor, but easy to destroy, if hard to hit.

Specifications:

Name/Type: Delta-7 Aethersprite
Designer/Manufacturer: Kuat Drive Yards / Sienar Fleet Systems

Actis-class ETA-2 Interceptor

Unlike the Delta-7, the ETA-2 is designed as a heavy assault craft in spite of its minimal size. It builds on design concepts of its predecessor, and proved effective during the final days of the Clone Wars. It has two turbolaser cannons which are fixed axis due to their size and power, several times more powerful than standard lasers. This gives the ship a substantial punch that could even threaten smaller capital ships when in sufficient numbers. Parts of the design clearly inspired Sienar's line of TIE fighters. Like the Delta-7, it features a truncated astromech built into the hull. The ship is very small, but bulkier than the Delta-7, which rooms more equipment. The ETA-2 was also used by the Jedi Order and hence most of them were lost during the wars.
Recommendation: Extremely rare. Quite tough to deal with, use proton torpedoes.

Specifications:

Name/Type: Actis-class ETA-2 Interceptor
Designer/Manufacturer: Kuat Drive Yards / Sienar Fleet Systems
Combat Role: Heavy Assault
Crew: 1 + astromech droid
Length: 5.47 Meters

Acceleration: 16 MGLT/s (est.)
Maneuverability: 75 DPF (est.)
Hyperdrive: x1 (with external booster attached)
Shield Rating: None.
Hull Rating: 30 RU (est.)
Weapons: 2 Front Turbolaser Cannons, 2 Laser Cannons, 4 Blaster Cannons.

Nsiss-class Clawcraft

The Clawcraft was developed based on Imperial TIE fighter technology in the early years of peace between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant. It is in use by the Chiss Empire, the Empire of the Hand founded by Grand Admiral Thrawn, and the Household Phalanx serving the late Grand Admiral. The original fighter used in the Chiss Empire has a limited navicomputer which relies on navigational beacons in Chiss space. Thrawn's various forces has upgraded the fighter with technology from the Imperial Remnant which they are loosely allied with. The improved and here depicted fighter has true hyperspace capability and higher speed than the original. The craft has a lot of firepower for an interceptor, sporting four L-s7.2 TIE laser cannons with 75% upgraded strenght. All in all it is an effective, agile, light fighter.
Recommendation: Highly overrated by rumour, yet this is a good fighter, able to compete on an even footing with current X-Wings and upgraded TIE Interceptors.

Specifications:

Name/Type: Nsiss-class Clawcraft
Designer/Manufacturer: Chiss Empire
Combat Role: Superiority/Interception
Crew: 1
Length: 7.65 Meters

Weapons: 4 Wing-Tip Heavy Laser Cannons.
Countermeasures: None.

Mankvim-814 Light Interceptor

This fighter was hastily built by available materials on the planet Utapau by the end of the Clone Wars and hence is also known as the Techno Union Starfighter. It is simple in construction but still has decent speed and maneuverability thanks to a high-velocity ion drive, magnetized thrust-vectoring rudder (aka etherical rudder), and two side thrusters. The lasers are only half as strong as those on TIE Line Fighters, but the craft has fairly good shields. The Mankvim is also equipped with repulsor-lift supported wings which gives it good atmospheric performance. It is a distinctively short-range fighter with only two hours worth of supplies and no hyperdrive, but it could serve as a cheap but cost-effective planetary based interceptor. The Techno Union used B-1 battledroids for pilots, but the craft can just as easily be used by a living pilot.
Recommendation: No need to use missiles on this, unless you want to get rid of it quick.

Specifications:

Name/Type: Mankvim-814 Light Interceptor
Designer/Manufacturer: Feethan Ottraw Scalable Assemblies
Commission Date: ~16 GR
Combat Role: Interception

LAF-250

The LAF-250 was designed to deal with pirates in the Corellian region. While it was originally considered a heavy starfighter / patrol vessel, it is only moderately armed with two laser cannons with above average firepower. While the craft has no significant weaknesses, it also possesses no strenghts. The sensor package is a bit light with a maximum range of 50 SU. At best the ship is comparable with a late model Z-95 Headhunter AF4. It presents little threat to Imperial or Republic fighters. The market price is 35 KCR for a used '250.

HLAF-500

The HLAF-500 was designed in response to pilot feedback from the relatively agile but underpowered LAF-250. It is nearly identical with the original, but has much better Sorosuub 9X2 fusial thrust engines, and additional weapon hardpoints which are normally taken up by a pair of proton torpedo launchers, equal to Krupx MG7. The improved LAF-250 model became known as the HLAF-500 and was approved for use by the CDF, Corellian Defence Force, after losing an entire wing of LAF-250s against an aged Nebulon-B pirate vessel. Used market price is 40 KCR. The HLAF is a much more potent craft than the LAF, but it has the same sensor package. It is particularly noted for high acceleration.

Blade-32 Superiority Fighter

Adumar is a planet with significant local arms production due to a long civil war. The Blade-32 is the main defence fighter which was designed on the planet. After the planet's unification, it was exported to the rest of the galaxy. It differs from standard fighters in many ways. It has no hyperdrive, and no shields, though it is so well armoured that it can still take a hit or two. It is a reliable, rugged design, if sluggish and slow. It performs significantly better within atmosphere, and carries more missiles than most fighters. In addition it carries twi rear-mounted lasers, with which the pilot can defend against faster, more maneuverable craft. New Republic Colonel Celchu speculated that the craft could become a fine bomber or assault fighter with the addition of shields and hyperdrive, though this theory was never attempted in practice.

Specifications:
