ATR-9 Modular Shuttle
This single shuttle craft can successfully take the place of the Lambda, Katarn, Grek, TIE Shuttle, TIE Landing Craft, TIE Boarding Craft, TIE Fire Control, TIE Electronic Warfare, TIE Vanguard,
TIE Lone Scout, Svelte, Delta JV-7, VT 49, Ye-4 Gunboat, Sentinel Landing Craft, Delta Dx-9, Beta ETR-3, Gamma ATR-6, LAAT, 517 Gunboat, and Skipray blast boat. It also offers capabilities similar
to the Guardian and Warden class Gunboats, but doesnít have their endurance. ATR-9 can offer all these capabilities because it is a modular design, the first of its kind in the sub capital arena.
The core of the ship is a hull shell based on that of the ATR-6 Gamma class shuttle. So its outward appearance is exactly like the ATR-6 Gamma, but that is where the similarities end. The ship is
designed to be so interchangeable that the only fixed equipment is the 3 man cockpit, life support system, navigation, basic sensors, flight control systems, sublight and repulsor lift engines,
the four MISS turrets, and a reactor to power only this fixed equipment. The interior of the ship is left wide open for cargo space or mission modules.
The skeleton and skin of the ATR-9 also differs from the Gamma, instead of being made of typical metals it is carbon composite. While not quite as strong as quadranium steel, this composite is
still very strong while offering other advantages over quad steel. The most notable of these is compositeís light weight, which helps make possible the speed, agility, and acceleration of this
shuttle. Second is that composites are not affected by fatigue stresses. Fatigue stresses are forces created by repeated vibrations like weapon firings, impacts, landing, or machinery. While these
stresses are much weaker, individually, than anything that could damage the structure but, over time they can weaken it severely. Composites can also be bent way out of shape and they will return
to their original state. Its freeness from fatigue stress makes composites very resistant to explosive blasts and easy to repair since the entire structure does not need to be rebuilt, only the
blasted sections. Lack of fatigue stress and being non corrosive also makes a composite hull much cheaper to keep maintained.
The 17 modular hard points are what gives the ATR-9 its flexibility. There are two large hard points, one forward and one aft. The forward one can carry boarding cutters and tunnel, or a
deployment ramp for infantry operations, or a dual launcher for MG-19 torpedoes for space combat duties. The rear hard point can accept a deployment ramp, mine laying unit, or an extra engine unit.
14 hard points are smaller and are located as follows; one on both sides of the forward and aft large hard points, four spread out equally on the left and right sides, one on top and towards the
stern, and one retracting hard point in the center of the belly. All the hard points can accept a multitude of modules. These include a class 2 turbolaser, a quad laser, class 2 tractor beam,
class 2 ion cannon, or twin rotoblasters. All these have their own gunnerís station and can be plugged into the ATR-9ís sensor array. Other modules include additional sensor arrays, a twin general
purpose warhead launcher(fighter sized) with up to 100 concussion missiles or similar number of larger projectiles, an air lock for space trooper deployment, or a docking unit for star fighters.
The docking units allow the ATR-9 to function as a combat utility vehicle, reloading, refueling, and if possible, repairing star fighters and bombers. To power all these different module
combinations, additional reactors are installed in the cargo bay.
The last hard point is a specialized one located behind the cockpit. It can accept an electronic warfare antennae array along with its associated computers plus crew compartment mounted below it
in the cargo bay. There is also a naval gunnery control module like that of the TIE Fire Control, but because the system is aboard the ATR-9, it is more powerful and the 2 operators can
continuously fine tune the system. The last unit for the hard point is a 6 pack of Advanced Box Launchers.
Most of these modules take up some room in the cargo bay and so take away from ATR-9ís ability to carry cargo or troops while they are fitted. The troop numbers listed in the specifications are
with all the broadside, top, and bottom hard points vacant or equipped with air locks or rotoblasters. With those hard points occupied with heavier weapons, troop numbers would be around 20 space
troopers or 40 Stormtroopers and no AT-STs.
The shield and hyperdrive modules are fitted depending on the mission the ship is going into. In space combat or troop landing type missions, the ATR-9 can be fitted with a 400 SBD shield
generator and a x6 hyperdrive, just a emergency escape unit. For other missions like cargo transport or personnel movement, an x1 hyperdrive can be fitted along with a 125 SBD shield. The
interior of the cargo bay also has interchangeable furniture. For troop carrying duties it can be fitted with bench seats and equipment racks. When carrying AT-STs or other vehicles there are
anchor strips to keep them well secured during transport. The hold can also be fitted with lavish furniture including small office/sleeping quarters, refresher area, and mini bar for transporting
VIPs. To help remove or install modules and move cargo around the bay, 2 traveling cranes are mounted on the ceiling of the cargo bay.

The UW-4400KM-MIL is the first sub cap that operates underwater up to 3km down below the surface. While that is useful, on particular water worlds it only gives limited insertion. But this is the
NIF's first steps in achieving a submersible comparibility to the New Republic's current capabilities.

The famous Lambda-class is almost as good a signature craft for the Empire as the Star
Destroyer or the TIE Fighter. It is a beautiful ship with three wings, of which two of them
folds before landing. It is built in a military configuration as the Cygnus Spaceworks
T-4a shuttle, but is also found on the civilian market. It is typically used to swiftly
transport personnel and cargo orbit-to-surface with relative saftey, a role for which it
is eminently suited as it handles very well in atmosphere and has good defences. In an
emergency situation, the cockpit section can detach and serve as a lifeboat.

Katarn-class Boarding Shuttle
As the name implies, this shuttle is designed to carry troops into boarding actions. The
Katarn shuttle rams an enemy capital ship nose first, where the airlock is located. It then
and uses its plasma torch to burn through the hull for a minute until a 1x2 m hole is made.
A boarding tube extends and seals in thirty seconds to form an airtight tunnel, and the
troops can enter. The entire operation can be done under two minutes. These shuttles are
standard complement aboard Imperial Nebulon-class frigates, but has also entered the
Designed for cargo transport ad non combat troop transport, the Grek-class shuttle is sometimes used as a boarding shuttle, if a combat shuttle is unavailable. It is part of the standard complement aboard Imperial Nebulon-B class frigates, but also in use on the civilian market.
The TIE Shuttle was the first offshoot off the TIE Bomber and is basically a TIE Bomber with removed weapons. It is mainly used as an inter-fleet passenger transport, a duty it fulfills with cost-efficiency. Higher officers prefer the sleek Lambda-class shuttle. The passenger seats can be easily removed to allow more cargo.
Another form of the TIE shuttle. This one is designed to transport troops to enemy capital ships to capture them. The forward end of the port pod carries an extendable docking mechanism with a universal airlock and automatic cutting torches to breach ship hulls.
These dropships are only carried by large Imperial warships such as the Executor-class.
It carries 4 AT-ATs in rotating racks plus a thousand troops, or an assortment of lighter
vehicles. It can alternatively deploy AT-AT Swimmers or TIE Aquatic Fighters directly to a
A heavy three-engine transport used aboard larger ships like Star Destroyers to carry army
vehicles into battle. Similar to the larger Titan-class dropship, the Theta-class only carries
a maximum of two AT-ATs with folded legs to a landing zone, alternatively several AT-STs or
smaller vehicles or a combination thereof. AT Barge crews do nothing else and are with extensive
training able to cut their stay on the ground down to as little as 10-20 seconds. This not only
increases urvivability, there are usually not enough barges to land the entire force at once
so they have to work quickly.
The Svelte was designed and came into use after the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn in an
attempt to replace the Lambda-class shuttle. It is sometimes referred to as a Vader-class
shuttle due to its gloss black finish. It is a sleek, fast, and highly maneuverable ship
with two wings that can raise like on the Lambda, but like strike foils to increase
maneuverability instead of for landing purposes.
Any shuttle with the "Delta" designation is a fast, light transport. The JV-7 is no
exception. It has two ion engines and three adjustable stbilizer wings. It was designed to
carry priority transport such as VIPs; high ranking officers and diplomats and came in use
around the Battle of Hoth. The rear-mounted turret has proved a nasty surprise for many
pursuing craft, the turbolaser is the same weapon as those mounted standard on the
CR90-class corvette, which although small is a capital ship. This military version of the
shuttle is much more heavily armoured than the civilan version which only has titanium
alloy plating (35 RU). The civilian model is in limited use by pirates and the rebels
have acquired some military shuttles.
This TIE ship is meant only for Imperial high command personnel. It is equipped with very
powerful command features such as long-range communications, advanced tactical computers,
tactical displays, viewports, command chairs, and various lavish features to make long
journeys more comfortable. It is a rapid transport with light armament but with good
defences and EW. All statistics are estimated.
Imperial traitor Zsinj turned warlord used a modified military transport barge as the main
dropship for his "Raptors" elite stormtroopers. It is a stealthy ship which can easily
avoid detection while landing. The whole side of the ship opens up to quickly deploy
troops and walkers. It can have different weapon configurations. There is also a
civilian model on the market with less armour and armament. One special thing about the
ship is its retractable stabilizer fins which greatly aids the ship when deploying
The VT is a series of light transports used exclusively by the Galactic Empire. The VT49 is
the most successful of these ships - typically, the Empire never used light transports as
much as the rebels. The Decimator is properly named, it was built to outfight anything it
can't outrun, and outrun anything it can't outfight. These ships are used for multiple roles
and outfitted according to mission specs. They are agile and powerful enough to function as
assault ships, taking on starfighters, or act as transports.
This TIE shuttle is much unlike others. It features a powerful overdrive system which allows
it to move priority cargo or passengers with great speed, coupled with a fine-tuned
hyperdrive and a top drawer navigational system that allows it to move between systems
faster than most other things in space. It relies on outrunning the opposition rather than
stand and fight, and is often employed by Imperial VIPs. Although fairly manouverable, it is
unable to take sharp turns, making it less suited as an assault craft. Sometimes it is
fitted with a beam weapon or a standard missile launcher for added protection.All
statistics are estimated.
The Hyperspace Tug was designed to clamp on to a larger vessel, rig a slaved computer
connection and accelerate it into hyperspace. It was devised as a means for the NIF to give
its interplanetary picket ships temporary hyperspace capability, but it can also serve as a
rescue vessel, moving and transporting ships with disabled hyperdrive motivators. The
market price is 250 KCR.
The Ye-4 is one of the variants based on the famous Lambda-class shuttle design. This is a
craft strictly used by the Empire. Like any other gunboat, it is mostly used for small time
patrols. The Ye-4 has seven turrets, covering all angles of the ship except the ventral side,
and it is heavily enough armed to shred fighters in seconds. It is more than capable of
dealing with illegally equipped light freighters, and is often used as a customs ship, but
also as a light convoy escort. It's not very maneuverable, but it doesn't need to be. The
Ye-4 is one of the variants based on the famous Lambda-class shuttle design.
A leftover from the Clone Wars and in service early with the Empire, this craft, known as a
Republic Assault Gunboat,doubles as a light orbital dropship and a small atmospheric gunboat,
often used for sky patrols. It has impressive in-air flight capabilities with its
repulsorlift units, but cannot achieve orbit on its own.
It uses positional jets for additional thrust to reach the target drop site, and it has
a sophisticated targeting array that can quickly map out the topography of a planet and
allow it to reach its target with incredible accuracy. This mapping system aids greatly in
recon and search missions, which the HAET-221 can perform at altitudes varying from as
little as a few metres up to several kilometers.
The Sentinel is based on the famous lambda shuttle, but is designed specifically for
insertion/extraction operations in hot LZs. It is amply armed and shielded. It can also
carry and deploy MAPs (Mobile Artillery Platforms) and other vehicles.
The Dx-9s is commonly known as the Stormtrooper transport. It took over the role of the
older Gamma-class Assault Shuttle from the same corporation. It ferries Stormtroopers in
and out of combat zones. It has multiple airlocks and magnetic and mechanical clamps for
docking with any ship for boarding actions. It is a versatile and potent craft righteously
feared by the Empire's enemies.

Beta-class ETR-3 Escort Transport
The Beta-class combines the hull of the Gamma-class with upgraded weaponry. They are
sectional and modular in design, allowing them to be used in a wide variety of situations.
It was originally meant to escort construction vessels when establishing planetary outposts
on unpacified worlds, but are also often used to escort cargo convoys. They were used during
the TIE experimental project as mobile remote control ships for pilotless TIE ships. For
a subcapital ship, they are quite large and heavily armed. In spite of the improvements,
the Gamma-class was not phased out as it requires less maintenance and the upgraded weaponry
did not prove a significant improvement for the ship's intended role. It remains a very
sturdy, versatile and powerful craft for its size and is popular throughout the Galaxy.

Gamma-class ATR-6 Assault Transport
The ATR-6 is a powerful transport designed specifically to deliver zero-g assault troops into battle. The spacetroopers can recharge in the cargo bay. There has also been a modified Woern-class ATR-6 model with space only for two spacetroopers, but with seriously upgraded combat ability with improved maneuverability, shields, and Class 9 capital-scale concussion missiles with improved fire control. Another common variant of the ATR-6 is being shipped with ion
cannons instead of lasers.

Low Attitude Assault Transport
The LAAT/i is the signature air-to-ground and air-to-air support craft of the Clone Wars.
It is an armed repulsor vehicle which can transport 30 Troopers and provide air support.
Although an outdated design from the Clone Wars, it is still reasonably effective
in battle. The cockpit section can eject on its own. Aside from the LAAT/i, the LAAT/c
(cargo) version is specialized for transporting crewed AT-TEs directly into battle, without
the troop compartment of the LAAT/i (later models used in the Imperial army may drop similar
sized vehicles such as MAPs). The LAAT has no space capability except for being
launched from orbit to ground.

One out of the three main ships used by Imperial Customs to hunt pirates and smugglers. The
"customs frigate" (far too small to be counted as a frigate in the Imperial Starfleet)
typically assisted Minestra-class Light Corvettes in system patrol. The 517-class actually
sports heavier armament than the larger ship, but it is slower and have little in the ways
of cargo space. Essentially it is a heavy gunboat with far more firepower than your typical
light smuggler or pirate ship. Like the Minestra, it is a sought after ship by pirates, who
typically alters the armament of the ship if they manage to get one. It can also be upgraded
with faster engines without drawbacks.
The XL-5 is one of few airspeeders in Imperial service. It is equipped for atmospheric and orbit movement but with only repulsordrive it cannot leave a planet's gravity well. It is designed to patrol and observe air traffic with highly refined sensor equipment. A couple hundred XL-5 can monitor a whole planet. Imperial Intelligence sometimes disguise XL-5s as civilian vessels and equip them with even more sophisticated sensors to keep an eye on suspected enemies of the Empire. The ship is also used as a co-ordination station for Arakyd Hunter-Killer probots. It has room for 12 passengers or prisoners, often picked up from H-K probots which in turn have picked up survivors from destroyed ships.
Third main ship used by Imperial Customs. Unlike the 517-class customs "frigate", it has a lot
of cargo capacity. One variant even managed to get 1000 Metric tons cargo space by heavy
automation and throwing out the brig compartment. However, it doesn't have space for boarding
party. The Guardian is a fast, capable gunboat intended to patrol remote systems and handle
freighter and smuggler traffic. It is easily modified, and can be fitted with TIE fighters on
external racks as well as be upgraded in armament, shields and armour, for an even more capable
ship. However, these modifications lower the ship's manuverability significantly.
The 344 class is an uprgade to the original Guardian-class, meant to address the lack of a
boarding party. With systems automation, the crew number is brought down, and it can instead
carry ten troopers.
The Warden-class is an upgrade to the Guardian-class gunboat, and looks pretty much the
same. It was however intended for the Imperial Security Services as a multipurpose ship
and not Imperial Customs. Compared to the Guardian, it is faster, more manuverable, and
carries improved sensor arrays. Shields were upgraded from the standard Guardian, but
armament was reduced, albeit with improved fire control - this vessel is not intended
for combat. Cargo capacity was also reduced to make room for four double bunk staterooms.
When in use by ISS, the ship carries no identifying marks, but it still stands out among
"Landing Brick" is an apt nickname for these dropships, since they are made to make a barely
controlled fall from orbit to a landing site, using massive short-burst drives to break out of a crash at the last few seconds. The result is a dangerous but very quick landing, after which it can deliver troops, vehicles and machinery directly into a combat zone. The first
strike teams are dropped in such fashion. When an established landing zone or base is
present, more conventional landing shuttles handle delivery. An added anvantage of the
simple landing procedure for these ships is that they perform the entire drop with engines
cut and minimal power which gives them a stealthy approach up until the last moments, when
they are generally under sensor horizon. This allows them to avoid most automated defence
systems. The F7 has a very basic short-range sensor array.
Grand Admiral Thrawn, known for his unconventional tactics, employed dropships also for
ship boarding actions, though this is a dangerous procedure if the boarded ship still has
any operational weapons since few dropships are made to withstand turbolaser fire. Since
dropships have no cutters, docking clamps, or other equipment to attach and drill through
a ship's hull, they have to deliver troops through a ship's docking hangars. In summary,
dropships are good for short, quick runs and no more. It has an emergency food supply of
two days for the crew, but that's it.
The ISP-6 is essentially a smaller version of the militarized Lambda-class shuttle. It is
used by the Empire for air patrols. If released on the civilian market, it would mainly be
a competitor for the famous T-16 Skyhopper. The ISP-6 is well armed and can reach orbit,
but is not made for space travel.
A sleek courier ship designed by Lord Roscoe in consultation with a team of NIF top engineers for his personal use, replacing his presumably lost TIE Scourge. The ship is filled to the brim with all in the latest and most advanced equipment, at no cost spared. The general hull design features a highly aerodynamic profile along with reconfigurable S-foils, giving the ship exceptional maneuverability in air as well as space. The ship has no less than eight ion engines, all optimized for maximum stealth and minimal energy/particle signature. Four of the engines are combined with turbojets, further boosting atmospheric speed well beyond the norm.
The electronics suite is especially advanced. The ship has such a high degree of stealth and baffling equipment that most sensors will never detect its presence. The autopilot is a fully autonomous and highly advanced sentient droid brain, capable of fully controlling the ship according to its masters's will, so in a sense, the ship does not require a pilot. Cabin space is ample with room for three people in the cockpit (which can change position to maximize the view) - pilot, co-pilot, and gunner, however none of those are necessary. The combined passenger and cargo compartment is equally roomy, with reconfigurable space for up to forty people if necessary. Normally the compartment holds only six people with plenty of room for comfortable long-range travel and equipment. It also has advanced anti-intrusion systems such as biometric sensors monitored by the onboard AI which is capable of killing intruders in seconds through an array of gravitational crushing, toxic gasses, electrical discharges, and lasers.
The ship is not meant for battle, but is amply defended if so required. While it has no missile launcher in standard configuration, the ship really doesn't need one; it's practically impossible to lock on to, and highly capable of dealing with fighters, particularly if the pilot is a high level Dark Jedi. It includes a special electronics disruption beam which can disable enemy vessels for capture in a more subtle and effective way than brute-force ion cannons. The ion engines includes an environmental shield that keeps liquids out when the engines are turned off - the ship is fully capable of aquatic landing, submerging, and take off. Many more details of the ship remain unrevealed even to the design team (such as that the instruments only display the Sith language, a simple but effective way of keeping the uninitiated out).
Select few Dark Jedi may be lucky/good(bad?) enough to receive one.
The II-xC maintenance/broadcast ship was mainly produced for and used by the Empire. Lacking any weapons, this subcap houses powerful broadband receivers and
transceivers. It normally has a crew of four in a cockpit, but can run with just a pilot and a com tech. It has two separate sections for ten communications
technicians with ample room for all crew on its two-week missions. The ship can act as a subspace relay or eavesdrop on enemy communications, invaluable
where communications have been disrupted or for the purpose of signal intelligence gathering or tracking. The ship has ten distinctive directional antennae
for tightbeam communications. Since it has no weaponry of any kind, it runs most missions silent. If that should fail, it's fast enough to outrun most
opponents, which is necessary in order to keep Imperial codes and frequencies out of the wrong hands.
