Death Star Mk I | |
|
The Death Star is so large that it is usually not counted as a starship, although it fits the
basic classification of one. Four ships of this class was under construction, but only one
was completed and lost shortly after its maiden voyage in the last Battle of Yavin. Two ended
up as colony space stations off the orbit of Coruscant, little is known for certain about
the fourth except that it was destroyed. The Mk I had several predecessors, and one
successor - the uncompleted Death Star Mk II. Emperor Palpatine was planning to have one
Death Star for each regional command. In addition, several other ships and stations of
dissimilar design sports strategic weapons. The Battle of Yavin revealed that the Death Star had several minor flaws. The defence shield was designed against a massive capital ship assault and not tight enough to prevent entry by rebel snubfighters, which caused minor surface damage upon the hull. In addition, there was a small surface reactor shaft heat vent. While protected by numerous weapon emplacements and a ray shield, a rebel fighter succeded in launching a proton torpedo past the defences which made the main reactor go critical, self-destructing the station. The Death Star's turbolasers were also designed for defence against a massive capital ship assault, and it had no laser weaponry which could effectively track and destroy the rebel fighters once they had penetrated the outer shield. Even in the light of the design flaws, the Death Star would have remained nearly unharmed and completed its mission had its commander only bothered to launch the many thousands of TIE fighters in defence against the tiny rebel assault. However, as they were only 30 craft, Grand Moff Tarkin felt that they posed no significant threat, although they did succeed in destroying several turbolaser emplacements and a deflector shield tower before the main attack came. As a starship, the Death Star has enough firepower to destroy entire enemy fleets with contemptous ease and blast any habitable planet regardless of defences into dust and rocks. It also has the support craft and troops to launch a msasive ground attack, and the detention facilities to lock up what's left for questioning. It was first concieved of as the Separatist's "Ultimate Weapon", which it is since there can be no defence against it. The first Death Star's superlaser has by some sources been claimed unable to fire at targets as small as capital ships. Information regarding this will remain ambiguous. (Ref: some statistics scaled up to better conform with proper canon. The 160 km size is prevalent in newer canon, such as "History Channel: Star Wars Tech".)

Eclipse-class Super Star Dreadnaught
|
The Eclipse-class command ship is the largest, most powerful warship ever built. Construction of it started during
the height of the Civil War, but with the demise of the Emperor and the subsequent anarchy, the completion of the
ship did not come until the Reborn Emperor took his seat upon Byss six years later. It was meant to command fleets
of Sovereign-class warships, but this never came to be. The original, prototype Eclipse was 17,500 m long but the
finished Eclipse II and all later warships in this class are 16,000 m long. The main weaponry of the ship is a
superlaser that can penetrate any defensive shield and turn the planet below to cinder in a single full powered
shot, and devastate any warship at nominal charge once per minute 11 times per day, at twice the range of the most
powerful turbolasers. The main conventional weaponry of the vessel consists of laser cannons with firepower comparable
to heavy turbolasers, as well as heavy turbolaser batteries with superior accuracy. In addition to this formidable
arsenal, the ship has a reinforced structure and can simply ram enemy ships at will. Finally, it sports gravity well
generators and can prevent hyperspatial travel on its own. The ship has extensive repair and maintenance facilities and have been noted as completely self-sufficient. It could probably well serve as a fleet utility and logistics platform on top of its other functions. While the carrier space has been distributed into several smaller hangars, one could fit a Victory-class Star Destroyer. It is fully equipped with ECM and ECCM as well as long-range communication suites, and it has enough power to cause massive jamming effects. Most enemies simply flee in the face of the dreaded ship rather than stay to fight. Ref note: Stats revised to reflect SW:ITW. | ![]() Specifications:

Sovereign-class Super Star Dreadnaught
| The Sovereign-class Super Star Dreadnaught was designed as a scaled down version of the massive Eclipse Star Dreadnaught. Like it's predecessor, it can ram smaller ships with it's reinforced prow. While the Reborn Emperor wanted to create a fleet of these vessels, only four were built and they were all destroyed by the New Republic within a year. The superlaser on this ship is operated by 1,000 gunners and it can breach planetary shields and turn planets into cinder in a single full power shot. It can fire once per minute at nominal charge up to eight times which is still enough to devastate any single starship, and at full power once per day. In addition to its incredible firepower, it also has a maximum range twice that of heavy turbolasers. The ship also carries 11% improved conventional firepower over the Executor-class, with as much as 36% improved fire control. However, the design has a weaker sensor array, only 2/3rds as strong as the one found on the Executor-class. The shield control suffer from the same weakness. The main batteries on the Sovereign are worthy to comment since they are not turbolasers, but heavy lasers. Normally, laser cannons are much weaker than turbolasers and has a range of only 25 space units, but the heavy lasers on the Sovereign-class matches the range and power of heavy turbolaser batteries, with much improved cohesion. Executor-class Star Dreadnaught | |
|
The Executor-class Star Dreadnaught is one of the most powerful vessels in Imperial
history. The most famous of all of these technological terrors is the Executor flagship,
commanded by the late Darth Vader. This ship is a force to be reckoned with in any
situation, and cannot be brought down with anything less than a concentrated effort from a
very large task force. Ion cannons are useless against its massive hull, save the largest
planetary batteries. The original Executor design received additional shield generators to
avoid the debacle of Endor, along with minor upgrades. Ref note: Stats revised to

Mandator Mk II-class Star Dreadnaught
The Mandator was a short-range battleship developed by Kuat Drive Yards simply to protect the
shipyards of this immensely wealthy and influential system. They were typically deployed
together with Procurator-class Battlecruisers, but they never really saw combat, since no one
would be foolish or strong enough to challenge Kuat, except for the Empire, which never had a
need to do so. The Mandator may be the first warship with the later famous protruding ventral
reactor bulb. It was noted to be equal in combat to 1000 CIS Recusant-class Light
Destroyers. The Mandator was one of the largest battleships ever, only yielding its foremost
position to the advent of the Executor-class and later heavy battleships. No Mandator has
ever been noted to serve outside of Kuat, but an improved Mandator II with longer range was
devloped for the Republic by the time of the Battle of Coruscant. These ships would later
serve in the Imperial Navy. Compared to the Executor, the Mandator has about 60% of its power.Member Availability:

Armada-class Battleship
|
The Armada-class Battleship was built after the Executor-class, but was actually primarily
designed before the more famous ship. In fact, the Armada-class was one designs considered
as the main command ship in the Imperial Navy. The Emperor and Darth Vader considered the
Armada-class not imposing enough, and the beautiful Executor-class was designed to fill the
role instead. The Armada draws more back to older design wisdom from the Clone Wars. One can easily see the basic design lineage going back to the Acclamator-class and related later ships. While not as large as the superheavy battleships like the Executor, it has superior tonnage compared to almost all other vessels. It is a heavily armed and armoured ship which can easily oblitterate cruisers without taking damage. Thousands of heavy turbolasers line the trenches, and it features a single large hangar bay at point of the ship, four times that of an Imperator. It is a ship of few finesses, relying on brute power to overcome obstacles. The most famous Armada-class ship suffered heavy damage due to a chain reaction in a lightly armoured transportation cage which was fitted on it for the special mission of escorting a unique life form found on a Rim World, and the ship had to be sent to deepdock for extensive repairs. This was an unusually unfortunate event that culminated from a particularly insidous rebel plan, but even suffering from the fluke event, the ship remained largely combat effective, if rendered vulnerable until it was later repaired. Admiral Giel was demoted to the rank of Lieutenant as a direct result of this event. All statistics are estimated. | ![]() Picture courtesy of Warlords Specifications:

Mother Devastator | |
|
We only know for certain that the Mother Devastators (aka 'Momma') are related to the
Silencer-class Assault Ships, aka World Devastators. We have no information regarding if
any were actually ever built. However the name suggests that the Mother's were more than
just larger World Devastators. They may have been the construction source of the smaller
factory ships, which could explain why so little is known about the Reborn Emperor's
shipyards and construction facilities that resulted in several super weapons and command
ships along with many smaller vessels: they might have been the mobile factory ships known
only as the Mother World Devastators. If this is the case, we know that they did not
participate in the assault on Dac along with its children and they might still be hiding
somewhere in one of the Emperor's many secret locations. Certain Imperial documents found
in the wake of the Byss catastrophy suggests the existence of larger Imperial ships and
superweapons; it is possible that this references the Mother World Devastators.

The Vengeance-class is essentially a budget version of the earlier and more prestigious
Executor-class, though still a powerful ship in its own right. It is a much thinner,
spike-shaped ship that retains many of the characteristics of its precursor, in a slimmed down
form. One exception is that the ship has a comparatively oversized engine section with more
maneuvering thrusters. This combined with the lower mass makes the ship relatively fast
and agile for its impressive size. Ref note: Stats revised to reflect SW:ITWMember Availability:

The Vanquisher is the largest dedicated carrier yet built. It was designed in the heyday
of the Empire, and could provide most of the fighter complement for an entire fleet
singlehandedly. The typically triangular structure of larger KDY ships are broken into
frontal mandibles containing multiple docking facilities for almost 2000 starfighters,
typically mainly TIE fighters. It also has a sleek, heavily armoured surface and firepower

traditional KDY designs, having something of a hunchback profile. It is powerful enough to

World Devastator | |
Silencer-class Assault Ships are named after Silencer-1, but they are better known as World
Devastators, Planet Smashers, or World Crushers. The World Devastator is a second generation
superweapon that consumes anything in its path. The surface of an entire planet can be
consumed in the matter of months by these self-sufficient, evolving machines of pure
destruction. Incredibly powerful tractor beams disintergrates matter and draws it into huge
molecular furnaces through the vessel's maw. In these furnaces, powered by engineered black
holes, matter is broken down into its base elements and fed to the World Devastator's vast
internal droid-controlled production facilities. Useless matter is converted to energy,
while valuable materials are used to create hordes of TIE droid fighters in a matter of a
few minutes, and even build Star Destroyers and other World Devastators if the parent
Devastator is large enough. In addition to ripping apart worlds, a World Devastator's
internal robotic manufacturing plant also improves and expand upon the World Devastator
itself. This leads to the fact that no Devastator is static, it grows and becomes more
powerful as they consume starships and planetary matter. They are normally grown in safety
until they reach maturity. Given enough time, it could potentially become large enough to
dwarf any starship. World Devastators have complex computer and guidance systems with a
unique identity that creates these customized additions and alterations based on its own
decisions. Devastators are incredibly powerful vessels that can rip apart any opponent,
nearly invulnerable even to heavy turbolaser fire. Originally, they were regulated by means
of a hyperspace-transmitted Master Control Signal.
This potential weakness has been since removed by the NIF, and override over the ship's
artificial intelligence is instead in the hands of the crew via advanced security measures.
Another difference is that the slow class 6 hyperdrive has been replaced by a class 2
military standard drive, since the NIF intends to use these vessels in space combat rather
than planetary assault. Finally, the slaves aboard have been replaced by loyal technicians.Member Availability:

Torpedo Sphere | |
|
The Torpedo Sphere is a dedicated siege platform, successor to earlier torpedo platforms,
large warships specializing in missile bombardment. The design also has a clear, if
indirect, lineage to the Death Stars. It enters orbit around the world and uses its
thousands of high-resolution DER sensors (Dedicated Energy Receptors) to analyse planetary
shield emissions to find temporary power fluctuations in the shield. These weak points
rarely exceed a 20% power drop and a 6 metre square for a few microseconds. It is a very
complicated task to locate the shield generators only by shield emissions, and once a hole
is found, the hundreds of torpedo gunners fires the launchers to create a temporary breach.
Failure means that the operation must be started all over again. After a successful
temporary shield drop, the turbolasers fire to destroy the shield generator and the planet
is left vulnerable. If there is even a slight mistake in timing, the entire procedure must
be repeated from the beginning. While plans were made to assign one Sphere to each sector
group (over a thousand), this role was overtaken by the Death Stars (of which only one
reached active service) and only six were in service at the height of the New Order, each
part of a supporting bombard fleet of 100 warships. Aside from breaking shields, the
Sphere can perform a Base Delta Zero operation, permanently terminating a planet.
Only one Sphere carried a prototype grav-shock device made to cause earthquakes and
tsunamis, but it could be fitted to other Spheres. This prototype may have been a special
"super" torpedo sphere, similar to the normal Sphere, but vastly larger and more massive,
approximately over 120 km in diameter. An obvious forerunner to the Death Star. The
"super" Sphere was lost due to rebel sabotage when it was rammed by a container vessel
at Fangol.
While being a siege platform, the Sphere - actually an ovoid - is not without combat
capabilities. Grand Admiral Pitta used a Torpedo Sphere to defend the planet Talus from
Grand Admiral Grunger's entire fleet of 30 Star Destroyers, 60 Strike Cruises and 100
Carracks, until Grunger rammed the ESD Aggressor into Pitta's sphere, killing them both.
While the TS can spit out an impressive 500 proton torpedoes per salvo (although normally
20 tubes are reserves), these weapons are optimized against planetary shields and
experiences a 56% efficiency drop when used against starships. The optional gravshock device
can localize a nearby planet's gravitational field, causing artificial earthquakes and other
seismic disasters. While incredibly effective, these devices are also incredibly expensive
to power. The localization of the planet's gravity also causes nearby starships, including
the torpedo sphere, to experience rapid and random orbital shifts, making the weapon
dangerous to use. The main weakness of the design is a complete lack of point defences
and starfighter support, which is why each Sphere had a support fleet. | ![]() Picture courtesy of Warlords Specifications:Name/Type: Torpedo Sphere Designer/Manufacturer: Loronar Defence Industries Designation: Battlestation Crew: 61,245 + 2,030 Gunners Length: 1900 meters Speed: 20 MGLT, 930 Kph Hyperdrive: x3 Shield Rating: 11400 SBD (est.) Tyrant-class Missile Cruiser

The Tyrant-class Missile Cruiser has never been used in large quantities even during the
height of the Galactic Empire. The last of these imposing vessels were lost at the Byss

these expensive vessels, preferring more standard multirole cruisers such as the Imperator.
The New Republic has never shown an interest in the Tyrant. The Tyrant carries 16 heavy missile tubes which can cause massive damage to slower capital ships if hit. This offsets the slightly meager turbolaser component of the ship, making it an effective space battle combatant when used against heavy fleet formations. The Allegiance class is present only in heavy fleet concentrations. Incorrectly named
"Super Star Destroyer" by the rebels, the ASD is known in the imperial navy as a "heavy star

nearly three kilometers in length, it is five times the mass of a regular Imperator-class
Star Destroyer with heavily armoured superstructure. Ten times the power output feeds twice
as many weapons and almost two and a half times stronger shields, all with much improved
recharge rate. The ASD is fit for use as a command ship with its extended CIC functions,
long-range sensors and powerful EW suites. Ref note: This ship is not 2200 m long. This class was provincially named after the first known ship of the type. | ![]() Picture courtesy of Warlords Specifications:

Class II Star Destroyer
The Class II Cruiser is a design in the lineage of the Acclamator-class Miltitary Transport,
which also the Venator-class carrier is. The Class II is however more geared towards a space
combat function than either of those ships, reflecting the development towards the versatile
Imperator-class lineage. The Class II maintains four large hangars, though not with such a
strongly dedicated carrier function as found on the Venator, while it keeps the engine and
bridge design of the Acclamator. One can also find the typical reactor bulge of the Imperator
line on this ship. The Class II was probably considered an intermediate design along with the
Class I and Class 1000 vessels. They were in service during the early Imperial Era, but never
became very common due to the advent of the Imperator-class, which moved the hangar bays to
the ventral side to further minimize this structural potential weakness, together with
improved firepower and a lower emphasize on fighters. Unlike the Acclamator and Venator,
the Class II is a non-atmospheric ship, also noting a change from large landing capital
ships to an increased use of shuttlecraft. All statistics are estimated. This ship is not

Imperator Mk III-class Star Destroyer

The Imperator Mk III subclass Star Destroyer was the result of serveral upgrades over years
to the Imperator Mk II. It has improved armour and shields, and it features many more point
defence weapons to make a Starbomber assault a nightmare, with much improved fast-tracking
and sustained rapid-fire capacity lasers. It also has bow- and side-mounted double proton
torpedo octet launchers and a cloaking device fitted as standard. It carries more support
craft and typically third generation Imperial fighters such as Scimitar Starbombers and TIE
Avengers. Ref: Although never officially named, several subclasses of the Mk I and II existed. Imperator Mk II-class Star Destroyer
The Imperator-II class features reinforced armour and shielding over the Imperator-I class
Star Destroyer plus 50% improved firepower. They began to appear in service several months
after the Battle of Yavin. Instead of a tractor beam targeting array between the shield
generators, the ISDII has a communications tower there. Also, its ventral Secondary Docking
Bay looks far different than that found on the Imperator-I class Star Destroyer. In combat,
gunners can eject from their station if it is about to be destroyed. The ISDII's
transparisteel viewports on the main bridge can resist an impact of a concussion missile
launched from a Victory-class Star Destroyer, although not without damage. These warships
are capable of staying operational, after being hit by all the ion cannons on a broadside
exchange with an Executor-class Star Destroyer. It also requires less crew than its
predecessor, however, due to its increased weapons gunnery crew needs, the total crew aboard
both ships remains the same.Member Availability:

Imperator Mk I-class Star Destroyer
The Imperator-class Star Destroyer is perhaps the foremost symbol of Imperial power in the
galaxy. It was the most visible of the new "Star"-class supervessels which were created
after the Clone Wars and the formation of the Empire. Until the advent of the Mon Calamari
rebel cruisers, none had been able to compare with these majestic vessels - and in the
afterlight, even then only under special circumstances. Still, the Imperator was only
produced up until the Battle of Hoth, after which the improved Imperator II became a
mainstay in the Empire and later its remnant forces, and still remains to this day. All
newer heavy cruisers are compared with the immensely successful ISD. Such is the might of
the Star Destroyer.Member Availability:

Dominator-class Star Destroyer
The Dominator was KDY's answer to the popular Immobilizer-418. It is built on the standard
hull of the Imperator-class Star Destroyer, but the superstructure holds four powerful
gravity well projectors. Unfortunately, this also weakens the hull and the gravity well's
immense power requirements causes a certain shield deficiency. Still, while this ship has
reduced hangar size and armament compared to it's sister class, it is built for fleet
engagements, unlike the Immobilizer. It is a highly versatile ship.Member Availability:

Deflector-class Star Destroyer
The Deflector-class Star Destroyer is a one-of-a-kind ship type developed in NIF laboratories. It came first into NIF service after the first Battle of Sullust. The hull is based on the Dominator-class Star Destroyer, but instead of fielding gravity wells, it has four massive shield generators coupled with advanced projector systems, in addition to the ships own shields. These shield generators are used to project a shield away from the Deflector, in the shape of for example a wall, a hemisphere, or a sphere. Typically these powerful shields are used to shield a small fleet from enemy fire. While the shields will then absorb massive enemy fire and not hold out very long, it gives first strike capability to the so protected fleet. Additionally, the shields can be used to block the enemy from escaping a battefield, or protect against starfighters. Multiple Deflectors can work together to form several shields, or a stronger one. Harrow-class Star Destroyer
|
Harrow is a newer, two-engine ship building on the experiences of the Victory-class
Star Destroyers, but it is not named Victory class since it was designed by Kuat Drive Yards
as a competitor for Rendili Stardrive's immensely successful line of VSDs. It came into
service after the Victory Mk II and only barely saw utilization before the Battle of Endor.
It addresses the minor weaknesses found in the Victory Mk II-class, increasing the hangar
capacity significantly (it is basically a copy of KDY's larger Imperator-class hangar, but
it doesn't utilize the same amount of support ships), as well as improving the weaker shields
and armour of the Mk II. Sometimes it is called the Advanced Victory Class, but this is
entirely inofficial. It sports improved firepower and more standardized gun batteries.
Harrow has the good atmospheric capability of the original Victory, with a larger
army complement and better means to deploy it. All statistics are estimated. |

Victory Mk II-class Star Destroyer
The Victory Mk II-class Star Destroyer was never produced in large numbers since they did
not come into service until after the Clone Wars had ended. It has several significant
advantages over the original Victory Mk I-class, such as the powerful Hoersch-Kessel engines
which together with trading off shield and hull strength increases the ship's speed and
manoeuvrability. While he VSD I was made with orbital bombardment in mind, the VSD II is
made for deep space combat. Although the VSDII has the same distinctive atmospheric
manoeuvring surfaces at its flanks, this vessel is incapable of entering an atmosphere due
to lack of repulsorlifts. The Imperial navy used these ships mainly for anti-rebel and
-pirate sector patrols.Member Availability:

Victory Mk I-class Star Destroyer
The Victory Mk I-class Star Destroyer was designed near the end of the Clone Wars, and these
ships formed the core of the Imperial Navy after the turbulent era. The concept of a
massive, highly destructive starship was first researched during the Clone Wars. When it
first went into service, it was considered the ultimate combat starship design until the
advent of the Imperator-class Star Destroyer. As more ISDs were built, Victory Star
Destroyers were being reassigned to planetary defence or moved to reserve fleets deep in the
Galactic Core. These ships proved to be an important part of the Imperial Navy even though
they are over three decades old. Few VSDs still serve in the Imperial Navy. The Corporate
Sector Authority purchased 250 of these ships. VSD have more missile launchers than any
other ship for its size. A single full volley could devastate even a heavy cruiser like an
ISD, if hit. But improved point defences and EW on more modern ships means this is unlikely
to say the least. It is one of the largest warships that can land on a planet and operate at
any atmospheric altitude.Member Availability:

Venator-class Star Destroyer
|
Following the Battle of Geonosis, the Separatist movement created a fleet of dreadnaughts to
achieve naval supremacy against the Republic. The previously so successful Acclamator-class
Military Transport was considered insufficient to handle the new opponent, and the
Venator-class was born. They fought the decisive Battle of Coruscant and proved more than
able to handle the dreadnaughts. Not long after, the advent of the even more massive
Imperator-class Star Destroyer relegated the Venator to a secondary place, but the design
lineage did not die out as it inspired the Class II cruiser, which in itself was a followup
concept on the overpowered Class I Light Cruiser. Building on the Acclamator's design, the
Venator is capable of landing for troop deployment of its Clone Wars era sized three
battallions The Venator is special in that it features a massive, single flight deck with massive dorsal slide hangar doors which can hold and very quickly launch an impressive amount of starfighers, but this is also a major structural weakness that was abandoned in the later Imperator. The ship also has several other problems, such as the broadside guns having too small firing arcs. To improve the point defences, modifications were sometimes made to include separated SHPA turbolaser mounts on the ventral side. It is a multi-role ship but with a strong emphasize on the carrier role. Member Availability:

Doomgiver-class Military Transport
|
Although claimed to have drawn its design from the Executor-class Star Dreadnaught, the
Doomgiver has nothing in common with the larger ship. This six-engined vessel features a
unique design carrying 100 drop pods on its ventral side in six rows. Each of these pods
are 21 m in diameter and 35 m high, divided into four sections. The largest section
covering 2/5ths of the bottom is reserved for 4 AT-ST walkers. The next section, 1/5th of
the size, holds 160 troopers. Above these are the storage compartment and the command deck.
The walker and trooper bays have four doors each which acts as landing bridges. These pods are dropped from orbit, reaches their targets very quickly, and break for landing. They then act as self-contained fortresses which can fully support and guide its troops. They are also heavily armoured and has a set of 4 laser cannons for defence. The pods are unable to return to orbit, but the Doomgiver's shuttles can tractor-beam them back to the ship for reload. Cantwell-class Star Destroyer
The Cantwell-class Star Destroyer is one of the earliest predecessors to the Imperial Star
Destroyer design. During the Clone Wars, this ship was designed to act as a reconaissance
capital ship; deep behind enemy lines, the Cantwell was often isolated from the rest of the
Republic fleet, and as such was forced to survive on its own for extended periods. When
encountering enemy forces, the ship had to be powerful enough to survive a sustained attack
and bring back information intact. The ship, though smaller and less heavily armed than the
modern Star Destroyer, was crafted in the now-familiar wedge design, which gives it the
designation of Star Destroyer. It features large and powerful sensor suites, capable of
penetrating most forms of jamming, but overall, this is an outdated design.Member Availability:

Katana-class Cruiser | |
|
The Katana-class dreadnaught stems back from the Old Republic Katana fleet ten years before
the outbreak of the Clone Wars. It was a project which meant to alleviate the extreme crew
requirements of the dreadnaughts that made up the bulk of the fleets at that time with a
new and highly automated slave circuit. While the project was technically a success,
the crews were infected by a hive virus, and while becoming insane and dying, they slaved
all the 200 ships in the fleet together and jumped blindly into hyperspace. The loss of
the Katana fleet was a political scandal that sparked a renewed call for decentralized
ship automation, away from central computers and toward a pool of droids. Eventually
Grand Admiral Thrawn located and put the Katana fleet to use again. Katana-class dreadnaughts are similar to standard Rendili dreadnaughts, but they have a darker hull which together with lack of internal lighting due to smaller crews originally nicknamed the Katana fleet "The Dark Force". The freed internal space was used for housing two fighter squadrons. The entire interior of the Katana-class was redesigned from the original Dreadnaughts. Dreadnaughts, even the Katana-class, lacks fire-linking capacity and fires all weapons seperately. |

Dreadnaught-class Cruiser
|
The Dreadnaught was originally designed and commissioned by the Old Republic. At their
prime time, they were the largest warships in service. Today they barely fit the class
of medium cruisers. The standard Dreadnaught in the Imperial Navy is not significantly different from the original used in the Old Republic's. The ship maintains its weaponry.
Even after refitting, this ship's sublight speed barely matches the speed of the Victory
I-class Star Destroyer and still requires an extremely large crew. The reason for the
large crew was that this ship made little use or no use of droid assistance. The Empire
was able to add flight decks in its dreadnaughts to allow 12 fighters as well as 4
shuttlecraft onboard. Although sluggish, it remains a powerful ship in use in both the
Imperial and the New Republic navies. It lacks fire-linking capability and must target and
fire each weapon seperately. |

Strike-class Cruiser | |
|
The Strike-class Cruiser was long time unique by its modular design. To many the cruiser's
combat capabilities come as quite the surprise. It was designed to be mass produced in a
limited amount of time due to the prefabricated component sections. This reduces
construction time and it also dramatically lowers the cost of each vessel. It was a triumph
of Imperial modular technology. The Strike Cruiser maintains 258 compartments, two of which
are brigs. The interiors of the prefabricated sections can be easily modified for specific
missions such as troop transport, planetary assault, prefabricated garrison base deployers
or carrying a full squadron of starfighters after a short stay at a spaceyard. This enables
the ship to change the mission profile of the vessel without the need to build entire new
classes of ships to fill needed roles. The weakness of this vessel is that entire systems or
weapon batteries can be knocked out by well placed shots as the modular connections fail.
Or in combat, if the parts of the Strike Cruiser's internal structure are destroyed the
vessel will break itself apart. At the time of the Strike Cruiser's design, the warship's weakness was considered only a minor flaw. These ships are tough, versatile and well armed. The shields are very capable and the ship is often deployed in large numbers. These ships were in service before the Battle of Yavin. Unfortunately, the Rebels and several other groups have been able to obtain a few of these ships for their terrorist or pirate uses. Loronar began to produce Strike-class cruisers for the New Republic until the Battle of Nam Chorios in 48 GR, after which the Loronar contract was cancelled. However LDI regained favour enough to later produce the followup Belarus-class for the NR navy. |

Eidolon-class Carrier
|
Eidolon was a unique prototype vessel, built in secrecy by Kuat Drive Yards. It was based on
Loronar's Strike Cruiser, but heavily modified and intended to be a carrier. It was automated
to a larger degree, allowing the use of only a small crew. Special rotating TIE Fighter racks
was added to it, allowing it to launch fighters very rapidly. The Eidolon was used by Grand
Vizir Sate Pestage as a weapons cache, to be used against the New Republic, should the Empire
ever fall (although this was also a political ruse). It was lost on its maiden voyage since
it was attacked and forced to blind jump into hyperspace because the ship was barely
spaceworthy. The ship ended up buried in the Tatooine desert, with its weapons cache still
intact. The location of it was kept secret until the New Republic's Rogue Squadron managed
to secure it. The remains of the Eidolon was dubbed Eidolon Base. After it was looted by the
NR, the base remained and a group of Imperial supporters who didn't want to travel to the
Remnant took control of it. Over time the NR ceded the territory to the Imperials, and
Eidolon Base became a wealthy city. KDY presumably still holds the design plans for the ship, and could create more Eidolon-class vessels, though it is not known if they have done so. All statistics are estimated. Member Availability:

The Enforcer is built on the same hull as the Immobilizer-418, but without the structural

Vindicator-class Cruiser
This Kuat Drive Yards warship was developed and manufactured to help fill the gap in the
Imperial Navy, whenever Imperial-class Star Destroyers were unavailable and smaller ships
were not powerful enough. The basic hull of this craft, which was created from designs
developed by Wilhuff Tarkin himself, was later reused as the platform for the Immobilizer
418 Interdictor-class cruiser by Sienar. This ship is unusual for its size in that it
carries no support fighters. It makes up for this shortcoming by sporting potent point
defences. The main drawback of the ship is the lack of heavy weaponry which makes this
cruiser less suited against heavy ships, but highly versatile and capable as a support and

Immobilizer-418 class Cruiser
|
Gravity well ships, also called interdictors, came into existance many months after the
Battle of Yavin. After the Empire learned that it was possible to generate an artificial
gravity well after an accidental discovery in the Sedri System, the data collected was
researched for many months. Finally Imperial scientists discovered how to create gravity
well generators, which were then mounted in the first gravity well ship, the newly
constructed Immobilizer-418 cruisers. Interdictors are used by the Empire to prevent ships
from entering hyperspace or to pull ships out of hyperspace into realspace into an ambush or
customs inspection. They are placed on the perimeter of a battle area or potential battle
area, giving the captains of the interdictors a clear view of the battle, so they can
precisely target the placement of gravity wells to prevent Rebel ships from escaping into
hyperspace. Gravity well ships are now a fairly common sight in the galaxy, and every fleet
should have at least one. For armament, this speciality cruiser only has anti-fighter
lasers, and needs to be guarded from other capital ships. In addition to its gravity wells,
this ship is a specialized EW combatant, able to jam enemy missiles and torpedos
(Ref: Empire At War). Although gravity well projectors can be effective weapons, they have certain limitations. Powering up takes 30 seconds, and powering up again after a shutdown takes 40 seconds. Thus it takes at least 70 seconds for a well-trained crew to relocate a gravity well. Additionally, a simulated planetary mass is as difficult to move as an actual planet. Finally the great energy demands of gravity well projectors also affects available power for the interdictor, typically decreasing maneuverability and accelerative thrust. Member Availability:

Neutralizer 418-class Cruiser
Yet another ship based on the same design as the Vindicator-class, the Abolisher is a direct
sister to the Immobilizer 418. This ship is a speciality inderdictor, instead of mounting
gravity wells, it has five pulsemass generators, aka pebble-spreaders. They create and
scatter tiny spheres of hyperenergy in a small select area of space. These hyperspheres does
not directly prevent the use of a hyperdrive, but they are highly dangerous to any ship in
hyperspace and can literally rip them apart while still in hyperspace. The problem with
these devices is that the spheres dissipate their energy in a few minutes, limiting their
effective duration. For this reason, the Abolisher is used less for blockades and more as an
offensive weapon against ships incoming from or jumping to hyperspace. Ships in realspace
are not affected by the hyperspheres. The Abolisher is not a canon ship, but it is
entirely based on canon technology and perfectly viable.Member Availability:

of its sister class, it has rectangular starfighter hangars protruding slightly above the hull.
They were very rare in the Galactic Civil War, since the Imperial navy never saw any use of
a ship that was essentially a small Imperator-class. The navy chose the lighter Prwoler-class
Escort Carrier over the more powerful Interceptor which can enter a naval battle on its own,
unlike the previous. It can defend itself well against starfighters, and have enough
armament to challenge frigates and light cruisers. They are also cheap and easy to maintain
and crew since they are built with the same equipment as their multiple sister classes. 12
of these ships were sold to the CSA.Member Availability:

Sardis-class Research Ship
|
This type of research vessel was used for the development of the TIE Experimental series,
which eventually lead to the third generation of Imperial starfighters. As such, it is
equipped to develop, store and launch remote-controlled and piloted fighters, and
extensively study test results as well as modify designs as required. It features a
single engine, a main bridge, two flight control towers, one on the ventral side and one
on the dorsal, and eight hangars. |

Broadside-class Missile Cruiser
| The Broadside was made in the early days of the Galactic Civil War for the Imperial Navy as a long-range missile ship. Most models of the Broadside were lightly armored and had small crews. Early models carried a payload of expensive diamond boron missiles, which high-yield area effect detonations proved useful against tightly packed ship formations. Later models were fitted with more economical concussion missiles. It is a relatively slow ship with moderate manuverability which is not capable of standing up to enemy cruisers on its own. Hence, the Broadside is a typical support ship working in conjuction with larger capital ships, or if deployed without such, always with an escort. All data estimated. |

Class 1000 Light Cruiser
|
Many Imperial warships favour firepower over defences, and the Class 1000 is a prime
example of it. If it wasn't for its impressive armament - 28 long-range turbolasers -
this dimunitive ship would hardly be classed as a light cruiser. On the up side, it is a
relatively low-cost vessel with small crew and maintenance needs. It was typically deployed
by the Empire in non-hostile systems, with patrol, customs, and/or defence duties. While it
doesn't have the strenght of shields or armour to stand up even to a heavier frigate, it
does sport enough firepower to quickly dispatch such threats. |

Bayonet-class Light Cruiser
|
The Bayonet was produced by Elrood StarYards Limited under a Sienar contract. For a time, it
served in the Imperial navy, but was soon considered obsolete and discontinued except for
limited customs and patrol duty in the Rim, in spite of its excellent performance. Many
Outer Rim governments continued to use the ship however, particularly in the Elrood Sector.
For a light cruiser, it is diminutive in size, which is probably why it was discarded by the
Empire, which favoured larger, more imposing ships. With the onboard probe and shuttle, it
can also be used for survey missions. | ![]() Picture courtesy of Warlords Specifications:

Carrack-class Cruiser
|
The Carrack is an old design but is proven effective and as such, still serves in the Imperial
Navy. It is modular in structure and very resistant to damage. Unfortunately this
compartmentalization system takes up too much interior space to fit the Carrack with hangars.
At only 350 metres in length, the Carrack is comparable with a Dreadnaught in firepower, which
is the only reason this dimunitive ship is considered a light cruiser. It is also one of the
fastest ship types in the Imperial Navy. It can carry 4 starfighters if the dropship is
omitted, all on external racks. Generally, these few fighters are used for recon and patrol
missions rather than defence. Rebel Carracks usually carry only two Z-95 Headhunters.
Tractor beams are not part of the original configuration, but all late-era Carracks have been
refitted with such. |

Carrack Mk II-class Cruiser
Three years after the reemergence by the Nemesis and the establishment of the NIF
government, Imperial researchers took the aging but still useful Carrak light cruiser and
modernized it with the purpose of creating a more effective design, prolong the life of the
design, and reduce the cost to run it. The result is the Carrack Mk II. It uses essentially
the same hull as the original Carrack. The main differences are an extension of the dorsal
hull structure and the addition of an internal hangar. The Carrack Mk II has undergone
extensive modification and upgrade. In addition to increased automation, it boasts more
efficient systems, a hangar, added armor, added shield power, improved fire control and
additional weaponry. Along with the many improvements, several hull weaknesses were removed.
A lateral thruster system was added which causes the ship to be more maneuverable than the
original, but also less modular internally. This cruiser has since quickly become a staple
in the NIF Navy.

Battle Horn-class Light Cruiser
The Battle Horn class is a standard modification of the Old Republic sector defence fleet bulk
cruisers. They are very rugged and reliable (unlike their sister class, the Neutron Star) with
reasonable shielding. They remain in large numbers in the outer rim, both in the Imperial
Navy, Republic systems and pirate organizations. Slow and bulky, armed with lasers only,
they pose little threat to an enemy other than as close support anti-fighter vessels.Member Availability:

The Neutron Star class is a standard modification of the Old Republic sector defence fleet
bulk cruisers. They are generally unreliable and in frequent need of repair. The Rebel
Alliance typically relegated these ships to transport duty. The Neutron Star is not as
numerous as its more successful sister class, the Battle Horn, but they are relatively
common with pirate groups in the Outer Rim. Slow and bulky, armed with lasers only, they
pose little threat to an enemy other than as close support anti-fighter vessels. |

Acclamator-class Star Frigate
|
Since the Acclamator-class was so successful, and more dedicated warships was needed in the
Clone Wars, a version using the Acclamator hull was made into a Star Frigate. The "Star"
nomenclature meant one of the new Imperial supervessels, larger and more powerful than its
predecessors (of note is the Mon Calamari "Star" cruisers which doesn't follow this
categorization). This is quite fitting since the Acclamator Star Frigate is 752 metres long -
very large indeed for a mere frigate. Unfortunately, the armament isn't much better than
ships half its size. Since the frigate version had a different focus, the strategic torpedo
launchers, intended for planetary bombardment, were removed. They were considered of little
use against capital ships since they take several minutes to aim. The armament was improved
with heavier turbolaser turrets and better accuracy. The cavernous transport compartment was
transformed into a spacious hangar which typically carries four TIE fighter squadrons and
two TIE bomber squadrons. The end result is something of a multi-role ship which can work
either as an assault carrier or an escort frigate with extra punch. |

Acclamator-class Transport
|
The Acclamator-class is best noted for being the forerunner to the famous Imperator-class. It
entered service in the beginning of the Clone Wars. One new aspect for a capital ship was that
the Acclamator-class could move through planetary atmospheres as well as the vacuum of deep
space. This meant that separate dropships were not required, and it could deploy its troops
in under two minutes. It was also equipped with the fastest hyperdrives available. Though it
does not have the firepower to be a frontline warship in the imperial era, the Acclamator
was nevertheless distinguished as the first ship capable of carrying out a Base Delta Zero
order with its missiles - terminating all life on a planet without survivors, something
never seen in the Old Republic until the onset of the Clone Wars (Older records speak of
similar events during special cirumstances during the Sith wars). The missiles, while
powerful, take several minutes to aim and is of limited use in a battle against capital
ships. So effective and impressive were the Acclamators that many leading shipbuilders began incorporating similar concepts into their own fleets. Rendili Stardrive followed a few short years later with the development of their historic Victory-class Star Destroyer. (Ref: AOTC:ICS, AOTC). Member Availability:

Modular Taskforce Cruiser
|
The Star Hauler-class, aka Modular Taskforce Cruiser, was designed according to a new
concept in the Imperial Navy, modularity. Rather than constructing specialized ships for
each function, this vessel was designed to be reconfigured as needed. The cruiser has an
underlaying structure that allows it to be built fast. It is a single frame with engines,
skeleton crew quarters, life support system and command compartments, but in the middle of
the frame is a single replaceable module with mission specific equipment. In just a day at
an orbital dock, the cruiser can be changed from intelligence ship to hospital ship. The
armament is light for a ship of its size, but it is intended to be a support ship, not a
combat vessel. During dangerous missions, MTCs are normally escorted. Standard modules
includes a survey module, an observation module, a hospital module, a rescue module and an
interrogation module. Each mission module is an entire self-contained unit. The module need only be attached to the frame and connected to the power generators, life support and communications ports of the ship in order to work. It is believed that Tagge Industries is working on mini-modules so the Taskforce Cruiser can be outfitted for a variety of smaller-scale functions. Member Availability:
